The CM 1243-5 adds PROFIBUS DP master capability to an S7-1200, allowing it to control existing distributed I/O stations, drives and field devices on a PROFIBUS segment. It is most often specified during a controller upgrade where the field network is retained to avoid rewiring the plant. VeeTech supplies the module and carries out the network configuration, device migration and commissioning of the retained equipment.
