The SM 1278 is a four-port IO-Link master that brings smart sensors and actuators onto the S7-1200 as digitally addressed devices rather than plain analog or digital points. Device parameters and diagnostics travel over the same two-wire connection, and replacement devices are reconfigured automatically. VeeTech supplies the module and handles IO-Link device configuration, parameter server setup and commissioning.
